Who are we?
LIBRARIANS. Married to each other (March 27, 2004). We met at Grinnell College, after graduation went to University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for our Master's Degrees in Library and Information Science, and then moved to NY. Jenny is originally from Chicago (Notre Dame HS for girls, where she played flute in band and watched lots of Star Trek). Kate grew up in NYC (Hunter College High School, and was a figure-skater, which involved lots of spandex). We both have our ham radio licenses. Jenny is KC2KRS and Kate is KC2KRT.
What are your favorite foods?
We're vegan except for honey and sometimes donuts, but we're trying to give up the donuts.
Jenny: Coffee, Dim Sum, matzo-ball soup, anything flavored vanilla, kumquats, mashed potatoes, anything with a pie-crust, bread, apples, avocados, waffles
Kate: Pickles, sauerkraut, potato chips, green tea, grapes, mustard, avocados, rainbow chard, sandwiches (Jenny declares Kate to be "Best sandwich maker ever"), grilled tofu
Do you have pets?
Yes. We have two cats.
What do you do?
LIBRARIANS. We worked as web developers when we finished our Master's Degrees. Kate wrote ASP, SQL, HTML, etc. for Machinesmart.com and ThinAirApps. Jenny was Web Manager for MediaRights.org. She used PHP, CSS, etc. We then both worked for a digital divide initiative, and then Jenny worked as a MetaData specialist, and now she's a branch manager. Kate worked as a branch manager and is now a Reference & Information Technology Librarian in an academic library. We're also working part-time on Master's Degrees at NYU, at Wagner, in Non-profit Management. We are avid marathon runners and knitters.
